A Few Words About Us

Learn A Little More

Located on the Intracoastal Waterway directly across from Marker 239, you are moored in the heart of one of South Carolina's oldest and most beautiful towns. Within 300 yards of your boat you will find restaurants, motels, B&B's and a variety of other shops located in our lovely business district.

For the history enthusiasts, Beaufort's downtown area is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The streets are lined with historic homes and churches just minutes from your boat. Walking, horse and carrriage and other tours can be arranged in the Ship's Store.

Our History

We have been under continuous management since the first facility was built at this location in 1965. Previously owned by Griffin Enterprises, Inc., the corporation now leases the facility from the City of Beaufort and operates as The Downtown Marina of Beaufort. Our arrangement with the city allows us to maintain a professionally run marina that strives to stay in tune with our customer's needs.

Great place to simply do nothing but relax

"The atmosphere compells you to relax and enjoy. Great little shoppes and restaurants and coffee houses. If you haven't visited Beaufort lately, you're in for a treat. Just walk along the waterway and watch the lovers. Enjoy!"

You have to visit downtown Beaufort

"I love Beaufort, S.C. and one of the main reasons is the historic downtown area. The Marina is a great store and the downtown views are breathtaking. Also, you can't beat Bay Street during the day with all of its shops and restaurants. A++++++++"

Nice Place to Visit

"The marina is located within easy walking distance of downtown. Although the town gets quiet in the evening, there are wonderful restaurants open. During the day, there's lots of shops open. The laundry facilities have several machines. The showers have good pressure. There was about a seven-foot tidal range. Although the current can be strong, the alongside docking (on the long outside dock and long fingers) helps to avoid manuvering through a strong cross current. When I was there, the seawall was undergoing major repairs. However, the work didn't seem to interfere with my experience"
